Thoughtful Gift Giving

Anyone who knows me, will tell you that I love giving (and receiving!) gifts. I really enjoy searching out the perfect treasure for the special people in my life. I feel loved when I get a gift that shows that someone knows me well.

I purchased this great vintage linen tablecloth a while back via Etsy, and have been saving it for just the right occasion. CoffeeKlatch is the name of the shop, and they have tons of great vintage kitchen linens.

This is just adorable beyond belief.
It's my cousin Katie's wedding, and she has the perfect personality to appreciate this kitschy gift. (Katie, I hope you're not reading this, it'll spoil your gift!!)

I'm all about re-purposing, and have a special vendetta against commercially purchased cards, so I decided to go ultra-simple here and use a large button as a tag. I just wrote on it using a fine-tip Sharpie marker. Then, I sewed the button to the embroidery floss that I used to tie-up the tablecloth.

It's a button, and a tag!

My advice for gift-giving? Have fun, say no to candles and bath soaps. Plan ahead and give yourself some time to ruminate about who your recipient really is. If you see something unique, purchase it for future occasions, and don't be afraid to get creative.
