If you follow me on Twitter then you have already heard my incessant whining regarding our weather. My tweets also often regard complaints about how our white dog Bailey, is mostly just gray and dirty. AANnd this conculdes my sales-pitch as to why you should follow me on Twitter, hah!

Anyhow, yesterday we experienced a new 'first' in relation to the extreme heat wave. The 'COLD' water from the tap was actually too hot for the Selah's bath! Way too hot, like uncomfortably hot too the touch. Utter nonsense.

<----- See this? Feel sorry for all of Central Texas.

TEXAS, let me tell you one thing. You can burn the backs of my legs on vinyl seats, you can kill every single blade of grass in my yard, you can make me red and  smattered with freckles, but you aren't about to take my little baby's bath time away. Those 20 blessed minutes of peaceful splashing are the icing on top of each of my days.

I was forced to resort to dumping ICE into the baby tub in an effort to cool the water down enough so she could take her bath. Not only that, but it took two batches of ice dumped into the tub to cool the water!

Selah thought the few remaining ice cubes were great fun :)

Lots of love,

  1. I love this post! I always enjoy reading your blog. :)

  2. So funny! Love that picture with the ice cubes floating in her bath water--crazy!!!

  3. I spent last summer mostly in Houston, I feel your pain! Maine doesn't get nearly that hot, obviously. But we do get extreme cold which can be just as bad, haha! Good luck keeping cool!

  4. my husband is a truck driver and he ran out of hours this week and is stuck in texas for the weekend. he isn't loving the weather out there at all! lol
