Something magical happens after I put the baby to sleep at night. It's like an entire alter universe presents itself to me. It's a Candyland wherein I am drunken with the possibility of completing an entire project UNINTERRUPTED. I may be dog tired at the end of the day, but as soon as Selah goes down for the night I am energized and ready to do something.
Anything. Creative. Wild. Colorful.
Not dishes..If we are talking about dishes, then I am tired again.
PRETTY THINGS. I feel the NEED to create beauty.
This was my inspiration. Slightly more impressive, but a little different from my personal style. It was the idea of painting cross stitch that is genius! NO SKILL REQUIRED. Just X's.

I decided on a little more modern and (cough) EASY design. I used a square piece of cardboard to mark off each X with a pencil. Also, since we have paneling (which I like to pretend is just fancy wainscoting) the vertical lines made it a little easier. I may go back and thicken the lines a bit, we'll just have to see.
I was taken aback this morning when I woke up to a lovely/crazy cross-stitch mural this morning. Whoa! When did that get there? The little Picasso cross-stitch fairies must have swung by last night.

| home. This is the design that I copied. Although I did it on a ginormous scale (trend..I think so), you could easily do this much smaller. |
